Welcome to Second Grade!

I'm glad you are in my class!

Our class is enjoying learning about how people had fun long ago and how people have fun today!

 The children did a terrific job interviewing parents and grandparents about games and toys from "long ago!"  

In math, we are learning about solid figures! The children constructed cubes, rectangular prisms, pyramids and cones using mini-marshmallows and toothpicks. We are now counting the flat surfaces, vertices, and edges on these solid figures!

In Social Studies, we are learning about different communities! We have learned interesting facts about cities, suburbs, and farming communities. 

We are going to begin a fun and unique project that will help us to learn about different communities around the United States and maybe even other countries as well. It's called... The Travel Log Project! Information will be coming home soon!
