September We are in the second grade! We are going to have such fun "When We're Together." We were so excited to meet old friends in the gym on the first day! 
     The first story in our reading books is Arthur's Reading Race. We also read an article about braille. Did you know that a French teen-ager, Louis Braille, created the Braille alphabet after an accident left him blind? 
We have been learning facts about the interesting world Under the Sea. We love to hear people in the halls say, "I didn't know that!" 
Mrs. M. helped us make fish frames.       There were 76 members of our JTPS family at Open House. We sang "When We're Together." Mrs. Randall was so proud of us! We work really hard during our centers. Mrs. Randall meets with small Reading groups. We help each other with the different activities. On September 26 we celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day. We made and ate delicious Friendship Applesauce!    .
 October Mrs. Wheeler came to visit! She retired last June and she misses JTPS! 
She told us about her trip to UTAH, and read us her new ABC book, U is for Utah. Parachute Fun!      Grade 2 on Show Your Favorite Team Spirit Day! 
Mrs. R. wore a Red Sox shirt, of course!   Mrs. Butterly led the Character Counts Assembly. The teachers told us about the pillars of character. Mrs. Scully and JT led us in the Character Counts Pledge.   We're having a canned food drive! Fire Prevention Week  Captain Domenic and Lieutenant Scott were so proud to show us the truck they take to fight fires.       Halloween Fun! Our Room Mothers came to help with activities and to bring a treat!
