WELCOME TO

Mrs. Lafferty's

Second Grade Looping Class

We will have an AMAZING year together!

First Parent Letter

Dear Parents,

I am very excited about the school year! This year is going to be very different from first grade. During second grade, we will be building on what has been learned in the past years and grow more challenging as we approach third grade. I will strive to help your child become more independent and responsible with his/her work habits. This year will be filled with projects and activities that will expand your child’s mind and imagination. I hope that you are as excited about the upcoming academic year as I. I expect to see your child grow intellectually, socially and emotionally throughout the year.

Here are a few things you should know to make this a successful year for your child:

· The school day begins promptly at 8:55 am.

· Our class will have a short snack break everyday. Please provide a nutritious snack for your child such as crackers, fruit, juice box, etc. (Snack is not provided).

Lunch 12:45- 1:10 and Recess - 1:10 - 1:35

Specials:

Monday - Music

Tuesday – Library

Wednesday – PE (wear sneakers)

Thursday – Computers

Friday – Art

· Absences: If your child is sick, please keep him/her home. Coming to school will only prolong and spread the illness. I will be glad to send home work when your child is absent but please tell the office in the morning when you call and return the work as soon as possible.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and support. Please feel free to contact me either by sending in a note or at laffertyma@watertownctschools.org with any questions or concerns. I read my email everyday and will get back to you in a timely manner. Also check out my web site at watertownctschools.org; John Trumbull Primary; Teachers; Yellow Pod; Mrs. Lafferty.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lafferty
