Pop Art - the Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture in Minneapolis

Kindergarten - Students are finishing their "Swimmy" collages, based on the book Swimmy by Leo Lionni.  Next they will learning about "Pop Art".  Students will have fun painting to music, then creating giant ice cream cone collages out of the painted paper.

Grade 1 - Students are completing their dinosaur drawings this week.  Next the students will be learning about Japanese Landscapes and the Japanese artist, Hokusai and his artwork, The Great Wave.  They will be painting Japanese landscapes and creating wall hangings.

Grade 2 - Animal puppets were created and performed in the art room puppet theatre.  Students did a great job both on the details of their puppets and dancing the puppets to "Swing" music.  Next the students will be learning about architecture and diversity while creating their very own "Dream House" collage.  This lesson was inspired by the book, The Big Orange Splot, by Daniel Pinkwater.  Coming up . . . . Elmer the Elephant collages and penguin/iceberg sculptures!
